Dr. Brien, a native of Mendenhall, is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Belhaven College, before attending the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and was also awarded the Most Outstanding Orthopedic Medical Student. Dr. Brien then completed a sports medicine fellowship in Texas at Baylor College of Medicine and was able to assist in the care of the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, and various collegiate athletes. Dr. Brien holds a Board Certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as a subspecialty certification in orthopedic sports medicine.

Dr. Brien specializes in the treatment of the shoulder, knee and elbow – to include ACL and meniscus tears, cartilage injuries, rotator cuff and labral tears, and various other sports-related injuries. According to many of Dr. Brien’s patients, he is known for his compassion and accuracy while taking care of his patients. Outside of work, Dr. Brien is a devoted husband and father of three beautiful kids.
