Dr. Kennedy is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Mississippi before attending the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he graduated in 1984. Dr. Kennedy then completed a post-graduate transitional internship in Georgia before completing a general surgery internship and residency at the Greenville Hospital System in South Carolina.  Afterwards, Dr. Kennedy completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and then completed a total joint and adult reconstructive fellowship at the University of Utah. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

A true traveler, Dr. Kennedy is professionally licensed in Mississippi, Florida, Utah, and South Carolina, which is why he jokes that each of his kids have been born in every state except Mississippi. Dr. Kennedy carries his childhood roots from being raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with him as he enjoys fishing, swimming, and sailing in his spare time, as well as serving on mission trips with his wife. As one of the most respected orthopedic surgeons in the state, as well as at Capital Ortho, Dr. Kennedy has utilized his decades of expertise and experience to prioritize personalized patient care and successful long-term outcomes.
